In the fast-paced world of e-commerce, captivating product photography is more critical than ever.

To achieve quality images to showcase your work in the best light, let’s explore the equipment we have for you.

1. Lights:

We use Jinbei D5 monoblocs, radio-controlled and reliable. They have a consistent 5200ºK source and can work either on the same radio channel, via slave, or by individual channel settings (not advised unless you know the system!)

2. Light Shapers:

All lights need a little ‘help’, and we have a full range of shapers - barn doors, brollies and soft boxes, through to the more specialised deep umbrella and focusing snoot with gobos (available on request).

3. (More) Lighting Equipment:

If you want to change from stills to video, we have flat-panel LED lights as well, which can handle talking heads or products. That way, you can keep shooting without having to “blue up” when changing from one form of imaging to another.

4. Backdrop and Background Support:

We have a cyclorama. Its live shooting area is 6m wide x 6.5m long x3.1m high. The windowless studio is fully enclosed, with 3 x3m backdrops which are ceiling-mounted and radio-controlled, so you don’t need to fuss with chains and sprockets!

5. Props and Tools:

Ours is a professional studio, used by pro commercial photographers, so it comes equipped with all sorts of gadgetry not on a normal call sheet: string (several types), ropes & chains, masking tape, spatulas, brushes of all sorts (paint & makeup), weights, shot bags, slivers of metal and stone to prop items up (or weigh them down) , a real flash meter (who uses them now? Pros do!), kilometres of material to wrap talent, products or sets in, portrait backdrops of all sorts, clips and clamps, an iron and a clothes steamer, spray paint (various)…

Lighting is Key: Lighting plays a crucial role in jewellery photography. We have flashes with enough power to suit the closest of macro work as well as diffusers to give a glow if you want a wider field of view.

Background Matters:

Selecting the right background is essential to make your subject stand out. We have textured surfaces like velvet or silk for a touch of sophistication, plus a vast collection of surfaces (glass, slate, tiles) and coloured material to add flair to your creation.

Managing Reflections:

All surfaces are prone to reflections, which can be both a challenge and an opportunity. We have mirrors, negative reflectors and a whole lot of surfaces to change or fill colours, as well as gels and filters for that bit extra.

Whatever your assignment, but especially for smaller, precious objects, we have everything you need to shoot, with or without talent.
